Bill Campbell CEO

Bill has a wealth of Chief Executive and commercial experience gained over the past 25 years. Prior to joining Stratophase he was CEO at Splashpower, a wireless power technology company, and Microemissive Displays (MED), a developer of P-OLED microdisplays.

Bill led the commercial development of both companies, through IP licensing in the case of Splashpower and through product development in the case of MED, raising venture capital finance and leading the successful public listing of MED on AIM in 2004. Before moving to his first CEO position, Bill had 20 years of commercial success with a number of electronics based companies – IP licensing of microprocessors with Tensilica, Design Automation, most notably with Synopsys, and Automatic Test Equipment with GenRad. At various times in each of these companies he served as both an Individual Sales Contributor and General Manager.

Bill holds a BScElectEng from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.

Tim Hilton CFO

Tim, a qualified chartered accountant, has extensive experience of managing the financial affairs of growing businesses, both nationally and internationally. At The Britt Allcroft Group Limited (renamed Gullane Entertainment plc) Tim was responsible for all aspects of the finance and company secretarial functions both in the UK and in the overseas operations.

Following a period of sustained growth, the company was floated on the London Stock Exchange and, under Tim's aegis as Group Finance Director, registered further significant growth via a series of major acquisitions. Tim then joined with a small group of chartered accountants to found Avonglen Ltd, a successful Southampton-based company providing business advice and financial management services to growing businesses. At Avonglen, Tim has acted as a consultant CFO to a number of technology-based businesses.

Tim has a degree in Accounting from Portsmouth University and qualified as a chartered accountant in London.

Michael Stevens, Chairman

Michael spent his executive career in senior management roles in international product engineering and manufacturing industries and has wide-ranging experience of growing companies through the development and commercialisation of innovative products and implementation of lean manufacturing techniques.

Most recently he was Group Managing Director of Linx Printing Technologies plc, where he led the rapid growth of the business into worldwide markets from 1995 until prior to its successful sale in 2004. Before that, Michael served in senior executive roles at Lucas Diesel Systems, Renold plc and John Brown plc.

Peter Smith, Non-Executive Director

Peter Smith is a world-renowned Professor of Optoelectronics at the ORC at Southampton University. He is a founder of Stratophase and continues to run a research group in the company's specialist area which provides new technology and trained staff.

Alex Cable, Non-Executive Director

Alex is president and founder of Thorlabs, Inc, a leading designer and manufacturer of equipment for the photonics industry. Alex's entrepreneurial approach has led him to invest in a string of successful early-stage optics and photonics companies.

Brian James, Non-Executive Director

Brian James is Vice President of East Hill. He served previously as executive VP at ADE Corporation, recognised as one of America's top small cap companies prior to its sale. His earlier experience, both financial and operational, was in venture backed companies and with Ford, Allied-Signal and Textron. He has a degree from the University of Vermont and an MS degree in finance from the University of Massachusetts.

Professor Harvey Rutt, Non-Executive Director

Professor Rutt was Deputy Director of the ORC at Southampton University from 1998 to 2007, when he became Head of School for the University's School of Electronics and Computer Sciences.
